On certain days between Christmas and New Year, and then every Monday until Easter, the women of the Gimmelwald market (known as “Marktfrauen”) sell fresh produce. You will find the stalls filled with various types of alpine cheese, cured sausages, Mostbröckli (cured, smoked and dried beef), fresh meat, jams, pastries, plaited loaves and sweet and sour pickled vegetables.
