Racing bikes on Grosse Scheidegg

From Grindelwald to Meiringen via Grosse Scheidegg. The route packs a punch. In so many ways. The relatively straight road, which is closed to private traffic (only a small number of Post buses operate on the road), goes to Grosse Scheidegg with a brief view of the Eiger north face. The strenuous climb is rewarded at the highest point of the route with a stunning view of the magnificent Wetterhorn peak. The descent follows the Rychenbach through the Rosenlauital. Soon, you see the majestic Engelshörner mountains rise up on the right. A stop at the Rosenlaui glacier gorge is highly recommended. The route is mostly flat from here to the Reichenbach waterfall. It then snakes its way down the steep mountain and you pick up speed. On the way back to Meiringen, you will encounter challenging twists and turns, and car traffic starting at Schwarzwaldalp, making caution essential. You can hop on the Post bus line anywhere along the route. And of course, you can also do the route the other way round.
