Lauterbrunnen Valley and Legends Museum
The museum building is called «Die Mühle» or «The Mill». Grain was probably ground here until the middle of the 19th century: the millstone is still there on the small square in front of the building. The Valley Museum tells the story of the valley’s inhabitants. Here, you can also admire the «Lötschenglocke» bell and the Gothic stained-glass windows. They used to belong to the first church that was built here in 1488. In the Legends Museum, you will learn how myths and legends shaped the lives of the people in the valley. The museum building is also home to the Lauterbrunnen Art Gallery. The gallery showcases art that tells local stories.
