The velogemel is a Grindelwald invention. It is a wooden frame with two runners – a sledge modelled after the bicycle. The people of Grindelwald have been using the velogemel as winter transport since 1911. To try one, all you have to do is rent one from the village and take it to one of the local sledging runs.
